In the early 2000’s it was nearly impossible to find healthy food options in Jamaica. What was available was difficult to find and often too expensive – not ideal for individuals or families looking to live a cleaner, more natural lifestyle.
The health food store, originally located in Orchid Village Plaza, was acquired by Abbi-Gaye and Krishna Phillipps in 2022. The husband-and-wife duo behind our store believe that any product we supply should be something they would use at home and serve to their children and loved ones.

Abbi-Gaye Phillipps
Founder & Managing Director
Abbi got her first degree in Electronics from The University of the West Indies, Mona, and spent 19 years as a part of Digicel in the Jamaica and Group offices.
In 2019, after serving as the Global Technology Programmes Director, she decided to make a major life change – becoming a stay-at-home mom. Dedicated to providing the best care for her children, Abbi was propelled to learn more about the food she prepared. She started by just reading labels – and to her surprise, there were a lot of ingredients she couldn’t understand.
Abbi had to educate herself. She began learning about healthier food options and natural herbs. This knowledge ignited a passion that led her to transition her family to a healthier lifestyle. But it didn’t stop with her family – the information and products weren’t readily accessible, and she wanted to help others learn about and purchase healthier products.
In 2022 Abbi and her husband started Organica, making healthier living simple and accessible for more Jamaicans. Now, as the founder and Managing Director, she continues to educate and raise awareness about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
Krishna Phillipps
Director
A technology executive and a photographer hobbyist, Krishna understands both the demands of executive life and the sacrifices often made for our family well-being and future, and the value of the simpler things in life – especially when it comes to the ingredients in the foods he eats.
He made the leap to a healthier lifestyle with his wife, Abbi, after experiencing the benefits firsthand. An avid user of Organica’s line of probiotics and food supplements, he joined the Organica team full-time in 2023, working to make Organica’s nutritious products more accessible to homes across the country.
Before joining his wife at the helm of Organica, Krishna worked at Digicel since 2004 in various positions, and went on to become the Group’s Chief Technology Officer and led the Investment Board. Before this, he worked with Cable & Wireless.
He holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science and Management Studies from the University of Technology, Jamaica as well as a Master of Business Administration from the University of New Orleans.
